Feeling lots of anxiety over getting financing for a home purchase?  You don't have to be. Being close with a lot of lending companies in the area has helped us learn a lot of the things that will make the loan application process pretty simple.

1 – Put together a list of questions regarding your loan program

Be sure you have a list of questions if you don't fully understand the ins and outs of the different loan programs. It's a challenge understanding the characteristics of fixed and adjustable rate mortgages. We or one of our lender contacts can help you understand the advantages and disadvantages of each one.

2 – Determine when to lock

Locking in the interest rate denotes that a lender guarantees the mortgage interest rates for the loan – ordinarily at the time the loan application is presented. By floating the rate, you can lock the rate at any time between application and issuance of closing documents. Those who opt to float presume the interest rates will fall in the near future.

3 – Determine if you want to pay additional points to decrease your rate
